Fraya Terms of Use
Version 1.0. Effective October 23, 2026.
1. Who we are and how you accept these terms
Fraya is provided by Fraya LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("Fraya", "we", "us"). You can contact us at support@fraya.app.
These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy, are the agreement between you and us for the Fraya app and service. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
You must be 18 or over to create an account or use Fraya. By creating an account you confirm that you are.
Fraya is distributed through app stores. The standard end user license terms of the store you installed it from (for the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement) govern your license to the app itself; these terms govern the Fraya service. If the two conflict about the service, these terms apply.
2. What Fraya is, and what it is not
Fraya is a shared family log. You and the caregivers you invite record a baby's feeds, sleep, diapers, solids, Play and Care, milestones and memories. The app shows summaries built only from the entries your family has made. It never compares your baby with other babies.
Fraya is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat or predict anything. The log is not a clinical record. Summaries, nudges and reports are there to help you remember and to help you talk to your baby's doctor. They are not a substitute for that conversation.
Summaries can be wrong or incomplete, especially when entries are missing or were added late. Always speak to your pediatrician or other health professional about your baby's health, feeding, sleep or development. The doctor report is a summary of what you and your caregivers logged. It is not a clinical record.
If you think a child is unwell or in danger, do not rely on the app. Call 911 or contact your doctor.
3. Your account
Give us accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date.
Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at support@fraya.app if you think someone else has used it.
One account per person. Do not share an account with another caregiver. Invite them to your family instead (section 6).
Once you sign in on a device you stay signed in on that device until you sign out.
4. License and ownership
We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Fraya app on devices that you own or control, in line with these terms and the usage rules of the app store you installed it from.
You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where the law allows this despite these terms. You must not scrape, harvest or extract data from the service other than your own family's data through the features we provide. You must not sell, rent, sublicense or resell the app or access to it.
The app, its design, code, artwork and text are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you no rights in them beyond the license above.
Everything you record in Fraya, including entries, notes and photos, stays yours. So that we can run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, back up, transmit and display your content, to show it to the caregivers in your family, and to process it to compute the summaries and reports the app provides. This license lasts for as long as the content is in the service and for a short period afterwards so that deletion and backups can run their course. We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it.
5. Acceptable use
When you use Fraya you must:
- use it lawfully;
- only record and upload content you have the right to share. This includes photos of children, which you must not upload without the permission of the person responsible for the child;
- not use the app to harass, abuse or harm anyone;
- not attempt to access another family's data, another person's account or any part of the service you are not authorized to use;
- not use bots, scripts or other automated means to access the service;
- not interfere with the service, its security or its operation.
You are responsible for the content you put into your family's log.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules (section 11).
6. Families and caregivers
This section matters. Please read it before you invite anyone.
The family. The person who creates a family is its owner. A family can hold more than one baby. Every entry, photo and memory belongs to the family, not to the person who made it.
Inviting a caregiver. The owner can invite other people to join the family as caregivers. An invitation is a code that is valid for seven days and can be used once. Anyone who is signed in to Fraya and enters the code can join, whatever email address they use. By inviting someone you confirm that you are entitled to share your child's information with them.
What a caregiver can see. A caregiver who joins your family can see everything in it. That includes:
- every baby in the family;
- every entry, including entries made before they joined;
- every photo and memory;
- the names and email addresses of the other caregivers in the family;
- pending invitations, including the code.
There is no way to limit a caregiver to part of the family's log or to entries made after they joined.
What a caregiver can do. Any caregiver can add, edit and delete entries, including entries made by someone else. Only the owner can delete a baby and the baby's whole history. Only the owner can invite caregivers and remove them.
Removing a caregiver. The owner can remove a caregiver at any time. Their access to the family's data on our servers stops when their device next connects. The family disappears from their app the next time it checks with our servers. The copy already on their phone is not erased remotely and stays there until they remove the app.
Leaving and ownership. At launch there is no self-service way for a caregiver to leave a family while keeping their account, and no way to transfer ownership of a family to someone else. Contact us at support@fraya.app if you need either. A caregiver can delete their own account at any time; section 8 says what that does.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for who you invite and for what you and your caregivers record. We do not check who your caregivers are or supervise what they do in your family.
7. Fraya Premium
Some features need a Fraya Premium subscription.
What it is. Fraya Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. You buy it inside the app, through the app store you installed Fraya from, using your account with that store. Premium applies to the whole family: when one caregiver subscribes, every caregiver in that family gets Premium features. If you belong to more than one family, Premium applies to the family you were viewing when you subscribed.
Plans and price. Premium is offered as a monthly plan and an annual plan. The price in your currency is shown in the app, taken from the App Store, before you buy. No free trial is included.
Payment and renewal. Payment is charged to your app store account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the price shown, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your app store account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
Canceling. You can manage or cancel at any time in your app store's subscription settings, or from Manage subscription in the app's Profile screen. Canceling stops future renewals. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting your Fraya account does not cancel the subscription; cancel it with the app store as well, or you will keep being charged.
If Premium ends. Nothing is deleted. Everything your family has recorded stays. The free-plan limits apply again to adding new items, such as babies and photos, and to how far back some views reach. The current limits are shown in the app's Help section. We may change them.
Refunds. Purchases are made through the app store, and the store handles refunds under its own terms. We cannot issue refunds for app store purchases. For a purchase made through the Apple App Store, request a refund at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
Restoring a purchase. If Premium is not showing after a reinstall or on a new device, tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Profile.
Changes to price or plans. If we change the price of a plan, the app store will tell you before the change takes effect and you can cancel before it applies. If we withdraw a feature you have paid for, we will tell you and you can cancel; the app store's refund terms apply.
8. Your data and deleting your account
How we collect, use and share personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. Please read it.
You can delete your account from the Profile screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and takes effect immediately. There is no grace period and we cannot restore a deleted account. Before you confirm, understand what deletion does:
- If you own a family, deleting your account deletes every family you own, for every caregiver in it. Every baby, entry, photo and memory in those families is deleted for everyone.
- If you are a caregiver in someone else's family, deleting your account removes your login and your membership. The family's log stays with the family, and entries you made stay in it with your name removed.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Fraya Premium subscription. Subscriptions are managed by the app store. Cancel in your app store's subscription settings before or after you delete, or you will continue to be charged.
Fraya works offline, and copies of a family's data sit on each caregiver's device. We are not responsible for copies of your data that remain on other people's devices, on devices you no longer use, or in device or cloud backups that you or others control.
9. Availability and changes to the service
Fraya is built to work without an internet connection. Entries you make offline are stored on your device and sent to the cloud when a connection is available. Until then they are not visible to other caregivers and are not backed up by us.
We do our best to keep the service running, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features at any time. If we withdraw a feature you have paid for, section 7 says what happens.
The web addresses fraya.app and baby.fraya.app are used for our website, sign-in links, our legal pages and app configuration. They are not a version of the app and are not part of the service.
10. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
As is. Fraya is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
No warranty of accuracy. Summaries, nudges, insights and reports are computed from the entries your family has made. They depend on those entries being complete and correct. We do not warrant that they are accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose. Nothing in the app is medical advice (section 2).
Reliance. You are responsible for decisions you make about a child's care. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from reliance on the app, its summaries, its nudges or its reports.
Cap. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the app or these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose and (b) USD 100.
Excluded losses. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill.
What is not excluded. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability or consumer right that the law of your state does not allow to be excluded or limited. Some states do not allow some of the limitations above, so some of them may not apply to you.
11. Ending the agreement
By you. You can stop using Fraya at any time. You can delete your account from the Profile screen (section 8).
By us. We can suspend or close your account, with or without notice, if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we withdraw the service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.
Effect. When your account is closed, your license to use the app ends. What happens to data depends on how the account ends. Deletion by you follows section 8. If we close your account we will handle your data as the Privacy Policy describes. Sections 4 (ownership), 8, 10 and 12, and any other section that by its nature should survive, will continue to apply.
12. Governing law and disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a problem, email us at support@fraya.app and we will try to sort it out with you informally before either of us takes any formal step.
Governing law and courts. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in DuPage County, Illinois, except that either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court where it qualifies.
Nothing in this section takes away any consumer protection you have under the law of the state where you live that cannot be waived.
13. Changes to these terms, and how to contact us
We may change these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we will update the version and date at the top. If you keep using Fraya after the change takes effect you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and delete your account.
